The Fattoria Santo Stefano was founded in 1961 by Mr. Mauro Bendinelli, Elena’s father and continues the cultivation of vines, especially Sangiovese, which was already present in the company for a long time producing an excellent Chianti Classico d.o.c.g.
Since 2000, the six children, gathered in today's agricultural society and partnership, make revive, following the family tradition, this wine productions, offering also another range of products such as vinsanto, grappa, extra virgin olive oil, conscious of the modernization of cultivation and vinification techniques in the cellars. Elena with her brother Agostino and the winemaker Giampaolo Chiettini make the wine with passion and love respecting the tradition of a genuine product.
Average annual production: 650 HL (65.000 liters) of Chianti Classico wine d.o.c.g. Currently 20% of the production is bottled, that’s about 15.000 liters of wine for a total of n. 20.000 bottles from 0,750 l.
From this production you get 3 types of wine: Chianti Classico d.o.c.g. Santo Stefano which arrives at 13.000 bottles a year; the other, Chianti Classico d.o.c.g. Santo Stefano "DRUGO" produced in the average amount of about 7000 bottles, the third Gran Selezione cru.The first is corresponds more at the traditional taste of wine and is fruitier with a good acidity; the other, as a Reserve, presents more structure, wide in the mouth. The last is the top level production.
